Team Leader / Supervisor Apprenticeship Standard

Who should attend?

Ideal for existing or aspiring Team Leaders/Supervisors who can take responsibility managing a team or discrete project. They can support, manage and develop team members, manage projects, plan and monitor workloads and resources. They can take responsibility for delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships.

Why should you attend?

Designed for existing or aspiring team leaders, first line managers and supervisors from all sectors - public, private or 3rd sector - and all sizes of organisation. Whilst the industry sectors and specific responsibilities will vary, the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role. They'll likely have job titles like Supervisor, Team Leader, Project Officer, Shift Supervisor, Foreperson, and Shift Manager.

This programme will help learners to become more emotionally intelligent, understand how to manage dispersed teams, learn problem solving tools and techniques and understand change management, effective communication skills the art of influencing and negotiating to build relationships with others and technical skills such as project management, operational management and finance.

Course outline

Our management development programme has been designed to meet the apprenticeship standard with learners able to achieve an ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership & Management while on programme (free of charge). Each session has been carefully designed to adopt an accelerated learning approach and the learning plan of topics is sequenced to focus firstly on the individual, moving onto working with others and then finally focusing on the wider organisation. Learners will be supported throughout the programme with regular 1-2-1 reviews to ensure they stay on track and appropriate support provided.

Assessment

End Point Assessment takes place on completion of the apprenticeship programme of learning. It is a comprehensive holistic assessment of knowledge, skills and behaviours against the whole apprenticeship standard involving:

  • Portfolio of work to evidence competency
  • Presentation with Q&A (50%)
  • Professional discussion underpinned with a portfolio of evidence (50%)
