Michaela Cozens - Business Development Manager

Michaela manages a wide range of programmes so each day brings variety to her job. Michaela's role includes meeting businesses to discuss their staff learning and development needs; managing in-house training; coordinating higher education programmes, contract management and promotion of funded training. 

Outside of work, she is a keen supporter of Wildlife, belonging to WWT, GWT & RSPB to name a few.

Rebecca Brinton - Office Manager

Rebecca is our Office Manager. Previously she worked with Early Years Settings for over 20 yrs both as an Early Years Practitioner and in management. She is also a Bristol Standards Quality Assurance Assessor, NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier. 

Spare time is limited due to managing her family’s two businesses but she enjoys reading, music, Ballroom and Latin American dancing, so is an avid Strictly viewer!

Fliss Rees - Events Administrator

Fliss joined the team in 2017 and is responsible for coordinating student membership registrations with ILM, booking exams with City & Guilds and providing help to learners on our Apprenticeship programmes. She also administers the virtual learning environment; website & social media. Fliss has a varied role which includes supporting Michaela with in-house training arrangements and Apprenticeship funded programmes.

Outside of work, Fliss enjoys going to the gym & swimming, and is something of a bookworm.

Tracey Titcomb - Finance Officer

Tracey has worked for Gloucestershire Enterprise for just over six years. She is part of the Finance team and is responsible for sales ledger and credit control. She has worked for several companies over the years, always in Finance.

Tracey is a regular film goer and a first division skittles player.

Lynn Allen - Events Administrator

Lynn has worked for Gloucestershire Enterprise since 2011 and her work involves helping customers access advice to start their business. She coordinates review meetings for learners on our Apprenticeship programmes. Before working with GEL she spent 10 years with Business Link working with small businesses.

Outside of work she enjoys walking her Bichon Frise.

Meredith Render - Events Administrator

Meredith Joined GEL in 2018 and her work involves helping customers access advice to start their business. She coordinates and uploads training materials to our online platform and ensures assessments are completed for learners on our Apprenticeship programmes.

Outside of work, Meredith enjoys theatre & amateur dramatics.

Abby Malkin

A senior project manager working within Government with over twenty years of experience leading projects and portfolios of projects. Lead projects ranging from IT to procurement to business change and  committed to making a difference through delivery while building high performing teams. 

Firmly believes that by developing and supporting the people within the project has huge impact on not only the individuals but also the team’s overall performance and therefore the project outcomes.

Barbara Smith

Barbara is an experienced Trainer and Coach who has held senior positions in HR and Training in both the private and public sector.

She has spent the last 22 years working with a variety of organisations, providing them with the appropriate training and coaching solutions to meet their learning and development requirements. She specialises in HR topics, communication skills, soft skills and business coaching skills. FCIPD, Cert Ed (Adult Education)

Darren Stevens

Darren has over 30 years marketing & PR experience. His career started with Bang & Olufsen at their UK headquarters in Gloucester. After a couple of years he joined Chelsea Building Society where he became Marketing and Customer Services Director.

In 2010 he set up his own business and he now works with over 30 clients mainly in Gloucestershire to help improve or implement marketing and PR activities.

Ellie Smith

Ellie has worked in Talent, Leadership and learning development for 13 years following a successful career in Banking where she held several leadership positions. Ellie's approachable and motivational style creates a safe and open environment for learners to explore and gain insights into issues or challenges they face. An accredited professional executive coach, she is known for energy and pragmatism whether working one-to-one or in groups.

Grant Cozens

Grant enjoyed a long and successful career in Banking in London, Bristol & Gloucestershire spending over twenty years as a Corporate Manager. He has a strong financial background and having run his own businesses, he is able to provide comprehensive advice and support at all levels to businesses of all sizes throughout their life cycles.

His style is open, friendly, pragmatic & informal to ensure delegates derive maximum benefit.

Jason Chatwin

Jason has 15 years of experience in Management and HR across a variety of sectors from Retail & Leisure, Banking & Finance to Health Care and MoD. He covers a range of topics including HR Management, Training, NVQ Assessor and Quality Assurer, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Coaching.

He is an inspirational trainer with a talent for making learning a pleasurable experience, even when the subject is regulatory and dry.

Jill Bradley

Jill is an HR training professional and her knowledge and experience has been gained within the public and private sectors (including 10 years working for a large multinational enterprise).

Nowadays, Jill provides freelance HR support to organisations and in addition specialises in providing training in HR topics, communication skills, soft skills and business coaching skills. Jill describes her training style as participative, fun, supportive, thought-provoking and practical.

Keith Jones

Keith Jones is an IT consultant and accredited trainer with many years of experience across a wide range of business sectors. As the New Technologies manager for a multinational corporation, he led international teams to develop world class manufacturing solutions. Keith applies his consultancy expertise to his training sessions to keep them relevant and evergreen to his delegates. He describes his training style as objective-based, fun and totally focussed on the needs of the attendees

Marcus David

An accomplished  trainer, specialising in Leadership, Management, HR topics, Coaching, Self Awareness and Emotional Intelligence. 

He is also an accredited Assessor, Verifier and Chartered member of CIPD. Marcus describes his training style as participative, fun, supportive, thought-provoking and practical.

Mike Robinson

Mike is our Internal Verifier for our ILM Qualifications.

An extremely experienced senior manager with a track record of success in both a “blue chip” and privately owned regional company. His expertise covers several key areas in the customer-driven arena, with a particular slant towards Human Resources. His skills lie in leadership & management, strategic/organisational development with excellent communication which means he is the perfect fit for supporting delegates in the workplace while they attend our training courses.

Mike Tickle

Mike has over 16 years working in the intelligence sector, driving organisational change through project management. Mike has a passion for developing his own staff through innovation. 

Mike delivers our project management & operations management topics and is a coach working with delegates furthering their professional project management qualifications. He is an energetic and engaging trainer with a wealth of experience to share.

He is chair of the Dyslexia and Dyspraxia Employee Resource Group and is a regular contributor of their blogs, presentations and positive press articles.

Paul Archer

Paul Archer is a speaker and training consultant, specialising in sales, coaching and customer care. His style is energetic and inspiring and all of his workshops and events are packed full of practical sales ideas that can be used the very next day.

In addition, Paul has been working with businesses, large and small over the past 20 years to help them increase sales revenue, expand their business and move into the new marketing era. He is the author of 6 e-books and many sales articles within his industry.

Peter Blake

Peter is a Chartered Accountant and Business Coach. He has his own practice where he helps clients with their accountancy and taxation needs together with helping them develop their businesses. Peter is a registered Hypnotherapist, Master Practitioner of NLP and qualified Life Coach.

Phil Meadows

Phil has 20yrs+ experience in industry covering technical and commercial roles, including design engineering, project management, account management, sales and business leadership.

A Chartered Aeronautical Engineer Status in 1993, his experience has led to managing a number of strategic projects and accounts, focusing on business change, transition, transformation, service delivery, meeting client expectations through long term partnerships.

Sarah Foley

Sarah is an experienced trainer, assessor and Internal Quality Assurer specialising in Health and Safety. She has worked in several colleges in the South West and currently IQA’s for a team which delivers leadership and management courses in connection to the building of Hinckley Point C. She spent 13 years in prison education overseeing and delivering Health and Safety to male prisoners in a teaching and management capacity and therefore understands the need to make a normally ‘dry’ subject more interesting.

Her training style is pragmatic, thoughtful and considerate of all learning styles.


Steve Lewis

Steve is a highly experienced, award-winning project manager, dedicated to the pursuit of sharing knowledge and experience and developing new and experienced project managers.

Skilled in methodology tailoring, stakeholder management, agile methodologies, coaching and mentoring he an ideal trainer for our delegates to become effective  leaders in Project Management.

Stephen Whitbourn

Following a career in operational management in industry and commerce, Stephen entered the fields of training and consultancy. He specialises in leadership, management, coaching and negotiation techniques.

Stephen regularly delivers courses to first line supervisors through to company directors both in the UK, Europe, Middle and Far East and India.
