This programme is for existing and/or aspiring supervisors. It enables experienced supervisors to build on best practice, while its longer term outlook makes it ideal for developing those with potential to take on extra responsibilities in the future.
The Supervisor Development Programme is a structured course of study designed to equip existing and potential supervisors with the skills they need to operate effectively in their role. Through high quality training, coaching and learner support, this programme will not only develop their skills, but will also raise their confidence in using them.
Funding may be available. The programme is supported by the Skills Funding Agency, utilising Apprenticeship funds. Eligibility is therefore based on age and current qualifications. Please contact us for more information.
The programme is delivered one day per month over 12-13 months, and thus offers a sustained development programme for your staff. Supervisors will be developed in practical leadership and management techniques, which includes the management of people, activities, resources, information and customers. We will also provide them with learning support, assessment guidance, business writing skills and use of basic calculations in a business context (an outline programme is overleaf). Successful completion of the programme will result in the award of:
