Understanding and Managing Commercial Contracts (In-House Only)

Who should attend?

This course is for managers and staff involved in either writing or maintaining contracts. If you are responsible for sales/purchases or the performance of outsourced services for your business, this course is for you.

Every time a sale is made, a contract is formed! But many of us don't think this way and often perceive "contracts" as long-winded, jargon populated, documents of entrapment. The simple truth is: they are not. Contracts are designed to help not hinder. They should provide all parties with guidance on expectations, responsibilities and what to do if things go wrong.

This one-day course aims to demystify the art of writing contracts and provide you with simple guidelines and practise in creating your own. By the end of the session, you will be able to:

  • Recognise Exclusions and Limitations
  • Interpret Statutory Implied Terms (SGA)
  • Deal with Discharge and Termination of Contract
  • Write Terms and Conditions
  • Appreciate the nature of High-value Contracts
