MS Excel 2010 Level 2 - Intermediate

Who should attend?

Those who wish to develop their skills of Excel 2010 and who are proficient in the basic use of the application but now need to learn the product beyond the basic skills.

Why should you attend?

Excel is a very popular spreadsheet application. Designed by Microsoft as part of the Office 2010 Suite, Excel is a desktop productivity tool that is designed to be useful in a wide range of applications. It can perform repetitive, complex calculations and adjust them automatically when parameters change. It can also manage large amounts of data - a database - and perfom analysis on it. This course builds on our Level 1 course for Beginners, starting to create more complex spreadsheets and tools.

Course Outline

Trainees must be familiar with Windows, able to use a PC confidently and should have attended our Level 1 Beginners course, or be conversant with its contents.

  • Find Excel's built in functions and understand how to use the wizards to get them right first time
  • Create complex formulae, using multiple calculations in a single cell
  • Get Excel to make decisions based on business logic
  • Customize and configure charts for data analysis
  • Create tables to store large amounts of data
  • Sort data for ease of use
  • Filter data to find specific information
  • Subtotal and analyse filtered data
  • Get Excel to highlight specific information with conditional formatting
  • Manipulate dates and text as well as numbers
