ILM HR Skills for Managers and HR Officers (Level 3)

Who should attend?

The course will be particularly relevant to individuals who have responsibility for HR but may not have the 'title' in their job description. Also relevant for people just starting out in their HR career, and can be used alongside the Certificate in Personnel Practice.

Why should you attend?

Line Managers and HR Officers need a wide range of knowledge and skills in order to help others with regulation, procedures and best practice. They need to be flexible, confident and quick of mind, good communicators and diligent record-keepers. This short course is designed to provide a good grounding in the width of subjects that HR Officers, and some managers, need to deal with. Based on the ILM Level 3 Award in First Line Management, and majoring on HR topics, the course will be suitable for those already working in HR, those thinking about working in HR and supervisors/managers who need to know and understand more about the parameters of working in modern organisations.

This course is delivered over 5 days.

  • Culture and Ethics in Organisations
  • Understanding training and development
  • Managing a Discipline and Grievance issues
  • Employer Relations
  • Record Keeping

Tony McBarron

Tony McBarron is a seasoned trainer with a wealth of knowledge and experience in interpersonal skills training and management issues.  Tony has managed in a range of organisations, both large and small, product and service, commercial and not for profit, and has accumulated an understanding of key people issues and strategies to improve relations and performance.  Tony is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
