Starting a High Growth Business

Are you an ambitious aspiring entrepreneur with the potential to achieve between £500,000 and £1m+ turnover within your first three years of trading?

Gloucestershire Enterprise Ltd, in partnership with Business West offers a high impact business growth programme to drive your success. Funded by European Region Development Fund, the programme is free to eligible businesses.

Whether you’re starting up or less than a year old, if you have the right attitude or innovation – a new product, service or concept – we’d like to help your business achieve its full growth potential.

To help you overcome the challenges of the first few years of business, you’ll receive a minimum of 12 hours support, including a dedicated business coach to work with you over an 18 to 36 month period.

From producing a solid business plan and identifying key areas for growth, to gaining the right level of finance and fully exploiting your innovation, you’ll benefit from specialist advice, dedicated workshops and practical support – with clearly tabled timelines and responsibilities.

Typically support will include:-

• Intensive one-to-one coaching
• Support with IP and investment readiness
• Building teams around ideas
• Support with grants and introductions to angel networks
• Market intelligence gathering
• Help with establishing supplier relationships

To start you on the programme, you are invited to two 'Preparing for Lift Off!' workshops:-

Workshop 1

The purpose of the workshop is to provide an informal approach to exploring how to take a raw high growth potential business idea to the next stage. By providing you with the opportunity to explore and challenge that idea with fellow entrepreneurs and enterprise experts this workshop will help you identify and overcome barriers to starting your high growth business.

Through facilitated conversations you will take time to evaluate your idea, create a vision for your business, review your aspirations and carry out a reality check. Finally, you will find out how you access one of our highly experienced coaches or mentors to work with you on a one-to-one basis to take your business idea forward.

Workshop 2

Building on the content of workshop 1, the purpose of this workshop is to tighten up on the tougher realities of moving a high growth potential enterprise forward. Facilitated by experienced tutors with input from entrepreneurs, experts and inspiring individuals you will consider the essential building blocks of starting a high growth business, look at the key stages of growth and map these against the business needs.

You will revisit and review your business plans, consider funding and finance in more detail, and continue to identify and stamp out growth inhibitors. Further thought will also be given to working with business mentors and coaches to ensure you make the most this invaluable relationship.
