Stroud based entrepreneur Berith Sandgren-Clarke has had an interesting business journey which began with the launch of a bespoke dress design company in 1998 and then developed into an image consultant business in 2002, due to high demand in personal service and advice relating to wardrobe, colour, and personal style.
Over the last 12 years the business has grown and developed into a partnership of image and style specialising in advising private clients, predominantly women between the ages of 30 and 70, who are living and/ or working in Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
On her business journey Berith has often sought out the help and support of professionals whether for business advice, networking events or more recently the input of a business mentor.
The Small Business Mentoring Service run by Gloucestershire Enterprise Ltd (GEL) provided the perfect solution to Berith’s long-term business strategy. ‘Before having had the support from my mentor my business was sometimes running away with me in a manner that could be perceived as being muddled. Now, I have advice to draw from and my focus is backed by having had a chance to talk things over before taking new ideas further.’
The service is available across the county and is ideal for small business owners who require a regular support and guidance to help them grow and develop their business interest. Mentoring Manager Michaela Cozens says; “Mentoring can be an ideal way of developing your business plans with the support of an experienced advisor. Often having a sounding board in business is a good way of moving things forward, especially if you work alone.”
